Ichnos

Ichnos Watches is the watchmaking microbrand that carries the soul of Sardinia on the wrist. Its name evokes the footprint — the one that, according to legend, gave shape to the island and traced its borders in the blue of the Mediterranean — and with it the idea that every journey begins with a first step. An ancient land of age-old traditions and thousand-year-old stones: the Nuraghi, heart of its earliest communities. It is to this ingenuity — a symbol of skill and resistance to the passing of time — that Ichnos pays tribute, setting out from Su Nuraxi di Barumini on its journey toward the turquoise of the Sardinian sea.

Behind the project are Pierpaolo Cassoni and Alessandro Mariani. Pierpaolo, a watch enthusiast since childhood and founder of Undersea Time — one of Italy's first channels dedicated to sea-bound timepieces and small-batch microbrands — gradually shaped the idea of creating a watch that captured everything he had always wanted to find and never had. His meeting with Alessandro Mariani, a young entrepreneur with a degree in industrial design and a keen collector, gave rise to a brand with deep roots in the past and its eyes on the future.

Ichnos picks up the thread of sporty, technical watchmaking from the golden age of timekeeping pioneers: instruments made to be used, not merely admired, inspired by the sea and the history of an ancient land.
